Clear access-list counters on Cisco ASA

Why would you want to clear access-list counters?

Sometimes you make some changes to your configuration and you’d like to have the counters of an access-list reset to zero.

Here’s an example of an access-list with some hit counts:

clear access-list counters

The syntax to reset the counter is:

clear access-list <acl-name> counters

Example:

clear access-list counters

This command resets the hit counts of all access-list entries for the given access-list.

To reset the hit count for only one access-list entry, negate (use the no form of) the access-list entry first and then insert it again in place using the line number option.
